Outline of Final Research Achievements

Exosomes are present in body fluids such as blood. They exist in both normal cells and cancer cells, and attempts are being made to use as a tool for cancer diagnosis by detecting the difference in exosomes present in both.
We focused on tear fluid and hypothesized if they could be used as a diagnostic tool, they could be used as a minimally invasive cancer diagnostic tool.
In this study, we found that tear fluid could be used for cancer diagnosis and prognosis in breast cancer patients.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements
