Project Period (FY) 2019-04-01 – 2021-03-31
Outline of Final Research Achievements

Elevated mRNA levels of PGC1α in female mice are associated with brown adipose tissue(BAT)activity under various conditions, and changes in the expression of some thermogenic genes regulated by PGC1α may contribute to the BAT activity.
Estrogen signal did not directly affect DNA methylation of the Pgc1α in brown adipose tissue, but may affect DNA methylation of PGC1α-target genes via PGC1α.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements
