Outline of Final Research Achievements

We investigated the effects of decidual factors secreted from the uterine decidua on extravillous trophoblast cells (EVT). Stimulation with IL-5, IL-7, IL-9, and IL-13 as decidual factors had no effect on the proliferation of trophoblast cells (HchEPC1b). In clinical samples of adherent placenta after ART pregnancy (maternal serum in early pregnancy), IL-7 levels tended to be higher than those in samples without adherent placenta.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements

本邦では近年生殖補助医療(ART)が盛んに行われている。ART妊娠では癒着胎盤を合併することで分娩後異常出血のリスクが高まることが分かっている。本研究成果は、ART妊娠に伴う癒着胎盤の新規予測法の確立に寄与する可能性がある。さらにART妊娠における癒着胎盤の事前予測は安全な出産および産褥搬送に伴う母児分離の回避に寄与するため、この点が本研究の社会的意義と考えられる。
