Outline of Final Research Achievements |
We developed (1) a method for estimating the difficulty level of a textbook using eye movement information while reading a digital textbook and (2) a method for estimating learners' comprehension using the learning logs of a digital textbook system as technologies for improving textbooks. In (1), the proposed method estimates the difficulty level of each page based on eye movement information during browsing textbooks and visualizes the parts of the page where learners feel difficult. In (2), the proposed method estimates the comprehension level of each page of digital textbooks based on learning logs during browsing textbooks. Combining (1) and (2) makes it possible to implement a system to visualize which part of a page a learner finds difficult to understand.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
