Outline of Final Research Achievements |
The present study investigated the mechanism of how the interaction between conscious cognitive process and unconscious process alters our sensorimotor functions in the “learning” or “acquirement” of various (mainly sensorimotor) skills. We addressed this issue by illustrating its nature through behavioral experiments on different topics (e.g., sword-swinging) and by simulating its process through a computational agent model consisting of two reinforcement learning systems (i.e., a conscious system and an unconscious system). In addition, the role and importance of "language" in search and manipulation of “bodily knowledge” in the cognitive process were studied using first-person research methods.

本研究の学術的意義は,「意識上の働き」と「意識下の働き」の相互作用に焦点をあてて,意識上の認知活動が身体運動を変容させる様相を,行動実験,計算モデル,一人称研究を組み合わせて多角的に探究した点にある.本研究の社会的意義は,人間のさまざまな「学び」の活動が,認知レベルでの主観的・能動的な模索や試行錯誤と,その過程で試行する身体的な変化の相互作用の中で進行することを浮き彫りにした点にある.
