Outline of Final Research Achievements |
In this study, we engaged in an online experiment to clarify the mechanism of inhibition in insight problem solving. The results showed that people with high inhibitory control may not be able to solve insight problems. We also conducted a memory study because insight problems have a high affinity with memory. We investigated the phenomenon that memory retention is higher for difficult-to-read letters (disfluency effect) from the viewpoints of emotion and working memory. The results showed that disfluency effect was not observed, but that memory was more likely to be retained for letters that were easier to read rather than difficult-to-read.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
