Outline of Annual Research Achievements

ヘルシンキ大学の協力によりフィンランドのヒューティアラ森林フィールドステーションにおいて採取され、化学組成および吸湿性の解析を行う大気エアロゾル試料（石英繊維フィルタに捕集された粒径が0.95マイクロメートル以下の粒子の試料と、0.95マイクロメートル以上の粒径を持つ粒子を石英インパクタにより粒径選別した試料）を名古屋大学に輸送した。同フィールドステーションにおける大気エアロゾル採取は、当該年度を通して実施されており、季節変動を含めたエアロゾル分析のための試料が得られた。なお、研究申請の時点では現地訪問による集中的なエアロゾル採取を計画していたが、新型コロナウイルス感染症の感染拡大により現地訪問が困難となったことから、ヘルシンキ大学側の協力により長期間の連続採取を行う方針に転換している。採取したエアロゾルの分析とデータ解析のための時間が十分に確保されていなかったことから、ヘルシンキ大学側の共同研究者に対して研究期間の延長を申し出た上、引き続き当該プロジェクトを次年度においても継続することとした。

このヒューティアラ森林フィールドステーションの大気試料を対象とする取り組みに加えて、同様に森林において得られた試料である、北海道苫小牧研究林で過去に採取された大気エアロゾル試料に対する解析を前年度に引き続いて行った。当該年度には、大気エアロゾル抽出物に対する3次元蛍光スペクトル測定で得られたデータを解析した結果のまとめを進めた。

新型コロナウィルス感染症の状況により、現地訪問による集中的なエアロゾル採取に代わってて長期間の採取を行う方針に転換したため。

Strategy for Future Research Activity

ヒューティアラ森林フィールドステーションにおいて採取され、名古屋大学に輸送された大気エアロゾル試料を活かし研究を進める。

Causes of Carryover

フィンランドでの長期試料採取を活かした分析を優先する方針とし、化学分析やデータ解析に速やかに移ることができなかったことなどの理由により、経費の使用額が低くなった。次年度には、フィンランドの大気試料を用いる分析に関する費用、日本-フィンランド間の輸送費、全球モデル計算のための大型計算機の使用費、計算結果の保存等に用いるHDDの購入費などに充てる。
