Research Abstract

Many proteins assemble and form complexes at DNA replication origins. The complexes are subsequently remodeled to initiate DNA replication. This study newly identified the pre-LC and the Sld3-Sld7 protein complexes of budding yeast. These complexes recruit two replication factors, Cdc45 and GINS to origins and remodel replicative helicase, Mcm2-7 to an active form, which unwinds double-stranded DNA to single-stranded DNA to perform DNA replication.
