Research Abstract

・ 昨年度紙媒体での降水量データが確認されたインドネシア、中国、仏領インドシナ、モンゴルなどのデータのデノジタル化を進めた。フィリピンでは1901-2007年の日降水量データセット41地点分を完成させ、香港・台湾気象局、気象庁所蔵の20世紀前半の台風経路データを電子化した。20世紀前半の仏領インドシナの気象観測記録の状況をフランス気象局で調査し、一部原簿の存在を確認したが、多くの史料は閲覧できないことが判明した。
・ 本研究他で作成した台風データセットを公開し、フィリピンへの台風上陸個数ついて、エルニーニョなどによる年々変動が顕著に見られる時期と不明瞭な時期とに分かれること、20世紀を通した台風の発生数は、西部北太平洋全域では長期トレンドは見られない一方、北緯10度以南での発生数は1920年代をピークに減少傾向があり、経路に長期的北上傾向があることを解明した。
・ 従前のプロジェクトと本研究で収集した東南アジア地域における日降水量データに品質管理を施して整理し、20世紀後半の日スケールでの各種豪雨指標の長期変動傾向を解析した結果、降水強度が強まる傾向が見出され、ベトナム南部・ミャンマー北部・ルソン島などで顕著である一方、ベトナム北部では減少傾向にあることがわかった。バングラデシュにおける降水量の年々変動は、季節内変動の振幅変調によって生じていることを解明した。
・ 東アジアモンスーンについては、冬季モンスーンの強弱が海洋と相互作用し、日本近海で急速に発達する温帯低気圧の活動を変化させていること、梅雨前線の経年変動には、2・4・6年周期が卓越し、卓越する周期には地域的特性があること、北上にともなう経年変動偏差がENSOの影響を受けて5月から6月にかけて反転すること、九州北西部での梅雨最盛期の降水強度特性に20世紀前半と後半とで顕著な違いがあること、が見出された。
