Research Abstract

・20世紀前半の中国・満州・東南アジアの月気象データのデジタルデータ、フィリピンの日気圧データ、中央気象台、台湾気象局、香港気象局、フィリピン気象月報、Zi-ka-Wei Observatory(旧上海気象局)の台風経路、モンゴルの日降水量データを電子化して整備した。
・日本の気象官署における1901年以降の日降水量データを使用し、「冬型天候分布」出現割合が20%以上の期間を各年の「冬季」と定義し、その長さにみられる長期変動を解析し、冬季の長さが20世紀前半以降、有意に短期化する傾向があることを解明した。長崎における6・7月の降水特性の長期変化を解析し、20世紀前半に6月の降水量の年々変動が大きかった一方、7月の平均降水量と年々変動は後半に増加し、大雨日の増加を反映したものであることを解明した。また相当温位を用いた梅雨季の開始・終了・期間の再定義を行い、梅雨の長期変動メカニズムを解明した。
・20世紀を通した西部北太平洋域の台風数には、全体として長期トレンドは見られなかった一方、赤道に近い領域の数は減少し、発生域が北上する傾向や、フィリピン・ルソン島の東海上で減少し、南シナ海で増加する地域的な長期トレンドが見出された。また、台風経路と降水量データを用いて、20世紀を通した台風による降水量とモンスーンによる降水量とに分けた解析をフィリピン、台湾、沖縄を対象に行ない、台風による降水量はフィリピンでは1930年代が多く、台湾、沖縄では2000年代が最も多かったこと、モンスーンによる降水量は1910-1940年代が多く、その後台湾、沖縄では減少、フィリピンでは1950年代に減少、その後に増加と、南北で逆の傾向にあることがわかった。
・ベトナムにおける秋季降水量の年々変動と夏・冬のアジアモンスーンとの関係について解明した。また、バングラデシュ・インド・ミャンマー・中国などにおける降雨の季節変化やその長期変化を解明した。
