Research Abstract

本研究では炭酸カルシウムを主成分とする殻を持つ,海洋に生息する原生生物である石灰質有孔虫の石灰化過程とカルシウムの取り込みについて検討した.市販されているカルシウムプローブ(Fluo-3AM)を海産無脊椎動物に初めて応用し,細胞内のカルシウムイオン分布を観察した.その結果,細胞内に取り込まれた海水からカルシウムを取り込んでいることが示唆された.また,チャンバー形成時にはカルシウムイオンが細胞質と共に石灰化部位に輸送される様子が明らかになった.
