Research Abstract

Autophagy is an intracellular bulk degradation system conserved among eukaryotes. In mammals, autophagy plays many physiological roles such as starvation response, protein quality control, host defense and so on. However, the molecular mechanisms of autophagy regulation are not well understood. Here, I focused my study on cross-regulatorymechanisms of innate immunity and autophagy. I found that TAB2 and TAB3, previously characterized as adapter proteins involved in innate immunity, negatively egulate basal autophagy in mammalian cells.
