Research Abstract

In basic study, we reported that Aldosterone, but not angiotensin II, reduced ACE2 mRNA levels and increased ACE mRNA levels in rat cardiomyocytes via mineralocorticoid receptor. Aldosterone might play an important role in cardiac remodeling by upregulating ACE and downregulating ACE2 levels. (Circulation Journal 2008)
In clinical study, we reported that a plasma BNP level is a significant independent predictive factor for pump failure death in myocardial infarction and non-ischemic heart failure patients. Estimated GFR is a significant independent predictive factor for sudden cardiac death in myocardial infarction patients.(J Cardiol. 2010 ; 55(1) : 55-64.)
