Research Abstract

網膜変性疾患に対する細胞移植・再生治療の開発の一環として移植細胞の供給源の開発を行った。マウスおよびヒトの人工多能性幹細胞(iPS細胞)から網膜を構成する細胞、特に網膜変性疾患において移植細胞の供給が必要となる網膜視細胞および網膜色素上皮細胞への分化誘導が可能なことを示し、iPS細胞が細胞移植医療の細胞供給源となる可能性を示した。
