Outline of Annual Research Achievements

天文学の基盤をなす恒星進化研究に変革の時が訪れている。大質量星の生涯最期の爆発である超新星の観測を通し、大質量星の少なくとも一部が終末期に劇的・動的な進化を遂げるという新描像が確立されつつある。本課題では(1)大質量星の終末期「動的」進化は普遍的なのか、(2)この未知の活動性の起源は何なのか、の解明を目的とする。
京都大学・せいめい望遠鏡の観測装置である可視3色高速撮像分光装置TriCCSへの分光機能の開発に関し、その本体となるスリット導入部の設計・製作が完了するとともに、面分光機能の設計を開始した。せいめい望遠鏡を用いた観測研究に関しても順調に進展しており、多数の超新星の観測を遂行した。
理論的研究も大きく進展している。共通外層進化の直接三次元計算(Iaconi, Maeda et al. 2020)を含む恒星進化の理論研究、ニュートリノ放射(Suwa et al. 2021)を含む超新星爆発機構の研究、超新星をはじめとする突発天体の可視放射および電波放射の理論モデル構築など、本課題を遂行する上で鍵となる理論研究の成果を多数発表した。超新星爆発直後の放射の理論研究に関しても複数の論文として発表しており(e.g., Uno & Maeda 2020, Matsuoka & Maeda 2020, Nagao, Marda, Ouchi 2020, Moriya et al. 2020)、本課題で取得中の可視および他波長観測データの解析のための準備が整った。
観測研究と理論研究においては、2020年度に17編の国際査読論文を出版した。

Reason

研究実績の概要に記したように、分光装置の開発が順調に進展、観測・理論的研究ともに順調に進展している。特に発表論文の多数を占める理論研究の成果は多岐にわたり、本課題で取得している観測データの科学解析の準備が大きく進展したと言える。

Strategy for Future Research Activity

引き続き、当初の予定に沿って課題を推進する。2021年度にはTriCCSスリット分光機にグリズムを搭載し、年度内に試験観測を実施することを目指す。引き続き観測を遂行するとともに、2020年度に進展した理論研究の成果に基づいた観測データの科学的解析に力を入れる。引き続き理論研究も推進する。
