Outline of Annual Research Achievements

(1)気候モデルによるアンサンブル初期値化予測データの解析から、大西洋-太平洋海盆間相互作用に基づく変動が数年規模で予測可能な主要な気候変動であることを捉えた。これに大気モデルによる大規模アンサンブルデータを組み合わせた解析から、この気候変動による海洋大陸付近の水温分布変化に伴う東アジアでの冬季モンスーンや九州地方でのストーム活動強度の統計的変化を捉えることによって、東アジアの極端降水量にも数年規模の潜在的予測可能性を見出した。
(2)温暖化傾向に関わらず、近年北陸で初冬季に豪雪による降雪量の増加(30~40%増)が生じているのは、爆弾低気圧と10年規模の熱帯気候変動モードの複合によるものであることを明らかにした。
(3)過去に強風災害をもたらした極端台風を対象として、領域気象モデルWRFによるダウンスケール実験、および2度上昇・4度上昇の温暖化効果を考慮した擬似温暖化実験を実施した。これら数値実験の結果を用いて、市街地における強風ハザードとその将来変化を局地スケールで評価した。
(4)領域気象モデルを用いた気候モデルMIROC6の力学的ダウンスケーリングにより,将来気候におけるJPCZの動向を引き続き調査し,JPCZの位置が現在気候より北偏する事など詳細を明らかにした。
(5)太平洋オホーツク海で発達した爆弾低気圧下では砕波起因の飛沫による熱輸送が発達に寄与すること、熱帯低気圧下では波浪混合と飛沫による熱輸送が共に予測精度向上に寄与することがわかった。
(6)東シナ海の黒潮近傍での長期的な海面水温上昇が積雲対流の活動と北向きの水蒸気輸送量を増加させることで、西日本における近年の梅雨末期の豪雨の増加に寄与していることを明らかにした。また浸水被害件数などのデータを整理した台風災害データベースを1947年まで遡り公開した。またメガストーム情報データベースについてもアップデートを図った。
