Outline of Annual Research Achievements

本研究では、太陽光を用いたクリーンな水素製造技術として期待される「半導体光触媒を用いた水分解」の飛躍的な高効率化を実現しうる新奇半導体材料の発掘を目的とし、我々が最近見出した高活性層状酸ハロゲン化物光触媒を基点として、理論計算と時間分解マイクロ波伝導度キャリアダイナミクス解析を主軸とする「高速光触媒探索メソッド」を開発することを目的としている。
今年度、京都大学の阿部グループでは、これまで主に検討してきた塩素系の酸ハロゲン化物に代えて、より好ましい特性が期待されるヨウ素系の開発に注力し、複数のヨウ素系酸ハロゲン化物を新たに合成し、それらが塩素系より高い光触媒活性を示すことを報告した。さらに、酸素と硫黄を含む化合物系においても、合成の精密化によりバンドギャップの連続的制御と、可視光照射下における高い水素および酸素生成活性を初めて見出し報告した。
また京都大学の加藤グループでは、トリプル蛍石相を有する酸ハロゲン化物であるBi2YO4ClのSb2YO4Clの固溶体(Bi2-xSbx)YO4Clを合成し、構造を詳細に解析したところ、Sb固溶に伴う(Bi,Sb)-Oの結合開裂が真ん中のYO層からの引張応力により引き起こされることを見出した。また、x = 0.5以下のドープ量ではバンドギャップが顕著に小さくなることを見出した。
さらに大阪大学の佐伯先生グループでは、独自の時間分解マイクロ波伝導度(TRMC)法を用いて、鉛ペロブスカイト半導体や無機光触媒中の電荷ダイナミクスを評価した。その結果、半導体膜の電気的異方特性と光物理・化学反応の性能について相関と因果関係を明らかにし、これまで見落とされてきた情報を簡便にかつ信頼性高く評価できるメソッドを確立した。
