高精細全脳イメージング技術と細胞標識レポータを組み合わせて脳領域アトラスを作成する。それを基にして１細胞ゲノミクスと神経細胞活動を組み合わせた解析を実施し、正常脳と病態脳を比較する。時間的・空間的に統合された脳情報を基に、脳疾患の生物学的理解と診断・治療薬の開発をめざす研究である。
脳領域アトラスの作成は、今後の脳科学研究に重要なツールを提供すると期待される。また、本研究の遂行により、脳生理機能の理解、脳疾患の解明、診断・治療薬の開発に寄与すると期待される。
