| Outline of Final Research Achievements |
We began this research to reexamine the literary evaluation of the Zhou brothers, which had not been free from partiality due to political agendas, and to elucidate the basis of their thought as literary scholars. In order to elucidate the ideological affinity between the Zhou brothers during the publication period of “Yusi” and the factors that led to their subsequent divergence, and to place them in the history of literature. We were able to hold an online symposium and publish the research journal “Research on the Zhou Brothers” from FY2022. We believe that we have succeeded in overcoming the limitations of conventional, isolated research on individual writers, and in developing a picture of the Zhou brothers and “Yusi” writers.

| Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
研究成果の学術的意義は、この研究を通して従来顧みられなかった『語絲』における周作人の戦闘的な一面をテクストに即して解明した点にあり、その対蹠的な立場にあった魯迅の新たな一面の解明にもつながったと考える。この研究の推進を通して実現した社会的な意義としては、今回の研究を通して、今後の周氏兄弟研究を担う中国と日本の若手研究者をオンラインとはいえ一堂に会して討論する機会を設けて、近来コロナ禍のもとで激減していた日本と中国との間での文化的交流にも資するところがあった点を強調したい。
