Outline of Annual Research Achievements |
Different ceramic nanoparticles-decorated metal powders have been fabricated by hetero-agglomeration process using acid-treated carbon nanotubes (CNTs) as bridging agents. The effect of nanoceramic addition on the powder size distribution, laser absorptivity and morphology of metal powders was investigated. The composite powders were processed by laser powder bed fusion (L-PBF) was performed. The microstructure and L-PBF builds was checked by SEM, TEM and EPMA analysis. The formation mechanism of in-situ ceramic coating was illustrated. The thickness of ceramic layer was controlled by adjusting the L-PBF parameters. The mechanical properties of ceramic layer and Mo matrix were evaluated by Vickers hardness and nanoindentation tests.
