Outline of Final Research Achievements |
1. Achieved results: 1) Continuous measurements of body to grasp the actual condition, and the measurements has been continued after the completion of the project; 2) Nutrition education was conducted for children and their parents; 3) Nutrition analysis of traditional foods eaten daily suggested risks to the next generation due to low nutrition; 4) Exchange study between Cambodia and Japanese primary school students was conducted and nutrition education research was conducted at Japanese primary schools. 2. Achieved outcomes as a result of the plan revision: 1) Identification of the actual situation of coliform group contamination of drinking water that causes diarrhea in children, 2) Health survey of children after the COVID-19 pandemic is over, 3) Initiation of interdisciplinary research to solve children's nutrition and health issues. 3. Several studies were discontinued due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and the suggestion of a "child-centered nutrition could not be realized.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
1.学術的意義:1)カンボジア初の農村部就学児童・生徒の体格(身長・体重)の継続測定結果を得た,2)現実に食されているカンボジア伝統食の栄養学的分析結果の提示、3)慢性低栄養が次世代に及ぼすリスクの示唆を得た、4)子どもたちの低体重や成長不良の一因である下痢症の原因である「飲料水の大腸菌群汚染」実態の把握、など多くの学術的成果を得た。 2.社会的意義:1) 学校と地域住民(保護者・地方行政)との協働で子どもたちの健康・成長改善の可能性を検討できた、2)子ども達の健康・栄養課題を学校教員や保護者と共有、地域課題として解決が必要なことを、関係者と共有できた、3)学際的研究開始のきっかけとなった
