Outline of Final Research Achievements |
Due to the influence of the COVID-19, the period for archival research in Germany was significantly delayed, and the research was conducted only once. The research project was influenced by the pandemic very negatively. Nevertheless, from the archival research conducted in Freiburg i. Br. and the Baden region in the fiscal year 2022, it was confirmed that wooden barracks were utilized for various purposes such as field hospitals, warehouses, and barracks during the First World War in Germany. Furthermore, it was also confirmed that after the war, the barracks were either disposed of, sold, or repurposed, a trend that could be observed even in Freiburg after the Second World War. Additionally, historical materials regarding the barracks manufacturers employed by the German army during the First World War were collected, establishing a starting point for studying wooden barracks from an economic historical perspective.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
