| Research Abstract |
平成21年度の最大の成果は、二冊の書物、No Wealth But Life.Welfare Economics and the Welfare State in Britain, 1880-1945, ed.by R.Backhouse and T.Nishizawa, Cambridge University PressおよびThe Return to Keynes, ed.by B.Bateman, T.Hirai and C.Marcuzzo, Harvard University Pressが刊行されたことである。前者は、創設期の厚生経済学と福祉国家に関わる研究の一応のまとめであり、後者は世界金融危機を踏まえたケインズ経済学の現代的意義を問うものである。「創設期の厚生経済学と福祉国家」については、この英文の書物を踏まえて日本語の書物の出版準備も進めた。
平成20年度に行った国際コンファレンス'The Dissemination of Economic Ideas'について、成果をとりまとめ、出版をする準備をH.Kurz, K.Tribeと一緒に進め、また'Marshall and Marshallians on Industrial Economics'についても、T.Raffaelli, S.Cookと共に出版準備を進めた。
平成21年度には、国際ワークショップ'Cambridge, LSE and the Foundations of the Welfare State : New Liberalism to Neo-Liberalism'を行い、Backhouse, Bateman, Pedenらに加えてJ.Teranishiを含む、10本の報告があり、大きな成果があった。ケインズ関係も、金融危機を踏まえて国際コンファレンスを行い、大きな成果があった。
