Research Abstract |
We mapped the D4 domain of human collagen I as most critical for binding site of bone morphogenetic protein(BMP) and used this information to genetically engineer a collagen-like protein consisting of tandem repeats of the D4 domain(mD4 collagen). We proved recombinant human mD4 collagen-like protein had a potential for an efficient scaffold as same as other scaffolds materials for engineering of bone when combined with BMP.
