Research Abstract

A bioadhesive that can be bonded to hard tissue such as bone and tooth, is highly needed for hard-tissue repair in orthopaedic medicine and dentistry. We developed a novel hard-tissue biodegradable adhesive on basis of phosphorylated pullulan. In this study, we examined the property of phosphorylated pullulan bioadhesive as a drug delivery carrier. As a result, phosphorylated pullulan bioadhesive appears to be an ideal material as a drug delivery carrier.
