Summary of the Research Project

小胞体からゴルジ体にかけての初期分泌経路での亜鉛イオンを巡るタンパク質の品質管理機構やタンパク質輸送調節において、亜鉛イオン濃度の恒常性維持に関わる亜鉛輸送体の分子機構と生理機能の解明を目指す研究である。生化学的手法に加え、ケミカルバイオロジーやプロテオミクスも融合し、亜鉛イオン依存のタンパク質恒常性維持機構解明を目指す。

Scientific Significance and Expected Research Achievements

応募者らが発見に関与した亜鉛イオンによる制御に関与するERp44の研究を基盤とし、初期分泌経路におけるタンパク質品質管理機構に亜鉛イオンが関することに着目する点はユニークである。さらに解析に対するケミカルバイオロジーやプロテオームとの融合についての取り組みや着想も評価できる。
