Outline of Annual Research Achievements

前年度までに、世界で初となる凹面凸面複合ミラー光学系の設計を終えた。また、形状測定法においてもオフライン装置の開発を終え、オンライン装置となるAt-wavelength波面計測においても、動作確認を終えた。加工技術では、CARE法のSi基板への適用性を検討し、ビシナル表面の生成が可能であることを確認した。当該年度では、ミラーの形状加工時の空間波長帯域を広げるための検討を行い、中周期からAFMレベルの短周期域までの形状誤差の一括除去を可能にし、ミラーの最終加工に適用した。また、At-wavelength計測の結果をもとに、サブnmレベルのミラー形状補正技術を確立した。前年度までに形状補正ミラーによる波面補正の準備を終えていたが、サブ10nmビームの具体的な活用の際の利便性において、ミラーそのものの形状補正が実現したことは、実験時のビーム特性の安定性を大きく向上するものであり、実用化に向けての大きな成果となった。複数のミラーのアライメントのためのマニピュレータも開発を終えた。組み合わせ光学系の波面計測に成功し、また、ミラーのアライメントの際の全自由度に対して、特徴的な波面誤差との対応を明らかにし、光学系調整の自動化の可能を得た。なお、繰り越しによる導入となったX線CMOSカメラにより、形状可変ミラーによる反射光の波面、ミラーアライメント時の波面観察の高度化を実現した。

Reason

凹面ミラーと凸面ミラーで構成される4枚光学系の波動光学をベースにして設計した。ミラー製作ではオフラインでの形状計測とオンラインでのX線波面計測に基づく形状計測を実現し、加えてCARE加工法の高度化によって、ミラー作製を成功裏に終えた。また、組み合わせ光学系のアライメントでは、波面誤差とミラー姿勢との関係を見出し、回折限界条件をSACLA実験チャンバー内において達成できる目途を得た。並行して実施した、オンライン波面制御のための形状可変ミラーも所期精度を実現し、米国APSの研究者らとの共同研究によって、ML(機械学習)を活用したミラー形状の維持法について、新たな研究テーマが立ち上がっている。最終目標であるSACLAの極限集光ビームを用いたX線非線形光学現象の観察に関しては、大いに成果を期待できる状況にある。

Strategy for Future Research Activity

SACLAの実験チャンバー内での極限集光ビームを安定して供給できる目途を得たことから、X線波面のその場計測法をベースとする高能率なアライメント手法を実用レベルで完成させる。また、集光状態の確認を複数の手法によって確認し、最終目標である未だ人類が未確認のX線非線形光学現象の観察と実証へと研究を進める。
