2022年7月、国際シンポジウム「Abstracts. Roar Asia! Proletarian Art and Literature in East Asia and their Cultural Transfer during the 1920s」にて、「The Problem of Empathy in Tretiakov’s Den Shi-khua」を発表し、文学作品における共感の問題について論じた。また、メディアを通じて感じられる集合的な共感を「マス・エンパシー」と名付け、その文化史について、アメリカとソ連の事例から研究した。その成果を、単著『マス・エンパシーの文化史』（東京大学出版会）で公表した。
