Outline of Final Research Achievements |
In this study, we rearranged the dawn of economics from the perspective of biology and physics with a focus on thermodynamics, and clarified the significance of the economics market for Lotka's research, which pursued thermodynamic expressions of ecosystems. In this research plan, we organized Lotka's life and research, which have not received much attention in Japan, and discussed the background behind the emergence of the Lotka-Volterra equation. The relationship between Lotka and Samuelson itself has been dealt with in the past, but in terms of its resolution within the neoclassical school of evolutionary theory, it has rarely been dealt with except by Hirshlifer (1977). This study treated this issue as one branch of the treatment of evolutionary theory within economics since the 18th century.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
