Outline of Annual Research Achievements |
Research achievements for 2023: (1) New, more simple, procedure has been developed to grow honeycomb Si nitride layer on SiC(0001) (2) DFT calculations of Xenes and their nanostructures (nanoribbons) on top of Si nitride layer including non-colinear spin-orbit interaction has been carried our revealing topological properties of the electronic structures. (3) New growth chamber at was set up for further experiments. Overall research period summary: Computational part of the work has been successfully finished. Structural and electronic properties of Xenes on Si nitride have been studied as well as their energetic stability. In experiments, we only achieved the base SiN layer growth and characterization, but all the preparation were completed to continue topic for successful growth of Xenes.
