Outline of Final Research Achievements |
An imaging assessment of cerebral interstitial fluid dynamics related to sleep revealed significant correlations with the ALPS-index. The analysis showed an inverse correlation between the index and latency to persistent sleep, and positive correlations with total sleep time and sleep efficiency. Multiple regression analysis demonstrated that poor sleep parameters, excluding latency to sleep onset, led to a decrease in the ALPS-index. A linear mixed model suggested that initial sleep conditions might influence the ALPS-index later. Additionally, Ktrans measurements showed a significant correlation with latency to sleep onset, and choroid plexus volume negatively correlated with total sleep time, indicating that worse sleep conditions are associated with major changes in the ALPS-index. These findings emphasize the impact of sleep quality on brain fluid dynamics and the importance of managing sleep disorders.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
