Tis carcinogenesis occurred by the WNT TGFB p53 RTK/RAS/MAPK pathway, with the WNT/TGFB pathway being the most frequent. On the other hand, the PIK pathway was suggested as a possible oncogenic pathway involved in the development of cancers deeper than T1.

大腸早期癌のclonal evolutionについて解析を行い、がんになることで様々なゲノム変異が起こることが解明された。この研究結果からがんへの化学療法に対する創薬や大腸癌の予防医学に対する治療が可能になることが期待される。
