Outline of Final Research Achievements |
The purpose of this study was to determine the prevalence of sacroiliac joint disorders by sport. Questionnaires and screening tests were conducted in athletes and collegiate students without exercise habits. The prevalence of sacroiliac joint pain significantly varied between different sports and was more frequent in the sport of swimming (40% prevalence) than in basketball. The prevalence of current sacroiliac joint disorders did not differ significantly between sports. The prevalence of sacroiliac joint pain differed between sports, suggesting that repetitive sports activity may influence the occurrence of this disorder.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
