Outline of Final Research Achievements |
The term "developmental dyslexia" refers to a disorder that causes difficulties in reading and writing in spite of the absence of general intellectual developmental delay. This study focused on the writing speed of adults with developmental dyslexia, examining the extent to which they write more slowly than adults without the disorder, and what factors contribute to their slowness. Furthermore, we investigated the degree of subjective difficulty with keyboard typing and flick keyboard typing, which are alternatives to handwriting, and found that adults with developmental dyslexia have relatively low difficulty with flick keyboard typing, and that the degree of difficulty with keyboard typing varies depending on individual cognitive characteristics. The results of this study provide clues to effective support methods for adults with developmental dyslexia.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
