Research Abstract |
Purpose: We evaluate to use carbon dioxide (hereinafter referred to as “CO2”) feet and hands bathing for prevention of paclitaxel-related peripheral sensory neuropathy.Method: The subjects of our study were breast cancer patients to whom pacli Method: The subjects of our study were breast cancer patients to whom paclitaxel was given weekly for 12 weeks before surgery in ambulatory treatment center. We randomly divided the patients into 2group of CO2 feet and hands bathing and observation wit Result:14 of breast cancer patients were enrolled in this study. 8 patients were assigned to CO2 feet and hands bathing group and 6 patients were to control group. All patients experienced peripheral sensory neuropathy in either hands or fee Conclusions: It was not made clear that the subjects of our study reduce paclitaxel-related peripheral sensory neuropathy by CO2 feet and hands bathing. More subjects should take part in the study.
