Research Abstract |
Fatty foods are attractive for human. It is thought thatβ-endorphin might be partially involved in palatability of fatty foods. In this study, we observed that fat ingestion could promoteβ-endorphin release in the brain. However, infusion of fat into the stomach did not affectβ-endorphin release. These results raise the possibility thatβ-endorphin released in the brain may contribute to palatability of fatty foods.
