Outline of Final Research Achievements |
This study aims to elucidate the mechanisms of diabetic kidney disease (DKD) based on glomerular single-cell RNA sequencing database. Our original single-cell protocol enabled us to explore several candidate genes which may be involved in DKD pathogenesis. We cretaed genetically modified animals and evaluated the renal phenotype, which could lead to the development of novel therapeutic strategy against DKD.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
糖尿病性腎臓病(DKD)は、末期腎不全に至る原因疾患として最多であり、根本的な治療法にも乏しいのが実情である。本研究はシングルセル解析により糸球体構成細胞種毎の解析が可能となり、病変形成に関与する遺伝子・パスウェイの探索及びそれらを標的としたDKD新規治療法の開発へ向けて大きな足がガリとなることが期待される。
