| Outline of Annual Research Achievements |
26年度は、高知県土佐町、ブータンのサムテガン、カリン、インドネシア・パプア州において、高齢者ヘルスケア-事業を展開した。対象は、それぞれの地域に居住する高齢者数百名である。各地域において、老年医学的総合健診を実施して、高血圧、糖尿病、肥満などの生活習慣病の把握と、抑うつ、認知機能、運動機能、生活機能障害の評価を実施した。ハイリスク・グループの高齢者に対しては、生活習慣改善のための介入と介護予防対策を行っている。
(1) 高知県土佐町:町在住高齢者約300名の健診を実施して、糖尿病をはじめとする生活習慣病を早期発見し適切な管理につなげた。また、同時に介護予防として、運動教室、栄養指導教室などを開催した。
(2) ブータン: サムテガン、カリン在住高齢者150名、180名について老年医学的総合機能評価を実施した。高血圧の管理が不徹底であること、糖尿病の頻度に地域差があることが判明した。その対策に関してブータン保健省ならびに当該地域BHUと協議を行い、介入を継続した。
(3)ニューギニア・パプア州: ニューギニア・パプア州の南部沿岸地域ケピ並びにバデ地区において160名の住民を対象に健康診断フォローを実施した 。生活習慣改善介入が奏功していることを確認した。
以上の調査を通じて、老年医学では６つの”D"、すなわち、（１）Disease（疾病概念）、（２）Disability（生活機能障害）、（３）Dementia（認知症）、（４）Depression（抑うつ）、（５）Diabetes（糖尿病）、（６）Death（看取り）が重要であるという認識を得た。
