Research Abstract

平成25年度は、赤外線センサ冷却試験用真空デュワーの改造、128×128画素のInGaAs近赤外線センサの冷却性能評価を行った。
真空デュワーの改造では、広島大学かなた望遠鏡へのアタッチメント、シャッター、フィルター交換システムを設計・製作して組み込んだ。これにより検出器の冷却試験が容易かつ精度高く行えるようになっただけでなく、かなた望遠鏡に装着して天体観測を行う準備ができた。
InGaAsセンサの試験では、昨年度までの試験結果に基づき、浜松ホトニクス社が開発した画素サイズ20μｍで128×128画素のInGaAsセンサの貸与を受け、上記の実験システムに組み込んで冷却性能評価を行った。新しいセンサは読み出しに関わるアナログ回路部分は新規に製作した。293K（常温）および110K（冷却下）における読み出し雑音、暗電流、量子効率、感度直線性、波長感度特性を計測した。読み出し雑音は、常温・冷却ともに800電子程度とまだ天体観測に応用するには高すぎる結果となったが、暗電流は冷却下で常温時の1万分の1以下となった。量子効率は約83%と高い値を示し、冷却しても効率に変化はなかった。さらに、同じフォーマットでセンサ部の読み出し回路を改良したInGaAsセンサの貸与を受けて、国立天文台で冷却試験を行った。読み出し雑音は上記のセンサと比較して5分の1となっており、天体観測に使用できるレベルまで下がっていることを確認した。
これらの結果を浜松ホトニクス社に伝え、今後の開発方針について打ち合わせを行い、次の開発項目として、より低雑音な読み出し回路を備えた320×256画素のInGaAsセンサの開発を目指すことにした。
