もつれ合い局在プラズモンによる超高効率2光子反応プロセス

Outline of Annual Research Achievements

もつれ合い光子を金属ナノギャップ構造に照射して時間もつれ合い局在プラズモンを誘起するという独自のアイデアにより、超高効率な2光子反応プロセスを世界に先駆けて実現することを目的として研究を展開した。もつれ合い局在プラズモンによる2光子反応プロセスの実現に向けて、3次元電磁界分布のシミュレーション解析により、金属ナノギャップ構造体ともつれ合い光子発生・集光光学システムを最適設計し、高分解能微細加工技術を用いてシステムを構築した。開発したシステムにより、これまで高強度励起が常識であった2光子重合反応を極微弱なCWインコヒーレント光で誘起することを可能とし、回折限界を打ち破る超微細パターンを2光子重合形成する初の実験に成功した。本年度は特に、金属ナノギャップに形成されるナノ構造光電場を制御し、自在に超微細パターンを形成する手法の開発に取り組んだ。光子に量子力学的な軌道角運動量・スピン角運動量を持たせ、これを金属ナノ構造に転写する手法について、理論シミュレーション解析を行い、選択的な角運動量転写が実現可能であることを明らかにした。また、ナノ微細加工技術により金ディスク周期構造体を作製し、空間光変調器でガウスビームに角運動量を持たせて照射すると、四重極子プラズモンを効率的に励起できることを初めて実証した。また、金マルチギャップ構造において、照射レーザー波長を変えると複数のギャップの局在状態を自在に制御できる実験に世界に先駆けて実現した。この成果は、ナノ空間で光の波長をコード化する技術として応用可能である。
