Outline of Annual Research Achievements

10**14eVから10**20eVに及ぶ宇宙線の起源，組成を明らかにするには，空気シャワーのモンテカルロ・シミュレーションとそこで用いる核相互作用モデルの検証が不可欠である．LHCfは10**17eV(重心系エネルギーで14TeV(TeV=10**12eV))に達するCERN LHC加速器を用いてモデルの検証を行うのが当初の目的である．
しかし LHCの増強計画に遅れが生じ，本計画の骨子である最高エネルギーでの実験を2015年度に繰り越した. エネルギーは13TeVに変更になったが，立案時の目標を近い宇宙線換算~9x10**16 eVでの実験を2015年6月前半に終えることができた．取得イベント数は4千800万, そのうちパイゼロ候補が50万となった．これまでの結果と合わせ3x10**14eV~9x10**16eVに渡ってモデルの検討が可能となった．
これまでのデータ解析で，パイゼロ中間子に加えイータ中間子も明瞭に観測されことがわかった．これはエネルギーが高くなったことによる効果で, イータ/パイの生成比からもモデルの検討ができることを意味する．現在，光子，パイゼロ，中性子の予備的エネルギースペクルを求めて相互作用モデルの検討をしている段階である．2013年までの低いエネルギーでの結果とほぼ同様の結果となっている．最終的な結論までは，2015年夏に行ったCERN SPSでの測定器の更正実験による検討が必要である．これらの結果は日本物理学会や幾つかの国際会議で予備的な結果として発表してきている．
今回はATLASグループとの共通トリガーも全イベントについて実現した．これにより，LHCfでの超前方とATLASでの中心領域での観測の相関や回折散乱の様相を調べることができ，相互作用モデルと実験結果との相違の由来検討やモデルの改良にこれまで以上に資することができると期待できる
