Research Abstract |
We conducted the 15-year follow-up survey of JPOS Cohort Study. Bone microarchitecture assessed by trabecular bone score (TBS) could predict for 10-year risk of major osteoporotic fractures independently of FRAX® score. Neither bone turnover markers were associated with the fracture risk independently of FRAX® score. Lumbar spine bone mineral density, TBS, bone turnover markers, previous fragility fractures, and secondary osteoporosis were significantly associated with a risk of vertebral fractures.
