Outline of Final Research Achievements |
This study examined the effect of physical training on elderly people's response speed and coincident timing skills. Elderly people and younger people participated in this study. To begin with, all participants were measured for three reaction times and a coincident timing skill. Then, only the elderly group trained for four months. The reaction times and timing error in the elderly group were significantly longer than in the younger group. However, their reaction times and timing error in the post-training were significantly shorter than in the pre-training. These results showed that although aging decreased the response speed and the coincident timing skill, continuous physical training made them improve to some extent.
