| Research Abstract |
Research was completed on schedule and in budget.
The final survey was carried out at Konan University, Kobe, in July 2013. Data analysis was undertaken in the autumn. Results are to be presented at the June 2014 meeting in Akihabara, Tokyo of the Phonological Society of Japan under the title of 'Rendaku Across Japanese Dialects'. Publication of results will be (pending confirmation) in a future volume of 'Phonological Studies'.
Although these results have gone a long way to filling in many of the lacunae in the rendaku data, much work on the interaction between rendaku and dialects remains to be done.
