Research Abstract |
In this study, the following data were obtained: 1) activation of cPLA2alpha mediated by lactosylceramide in TNFalpha-stimulated cells, 2) development of new ceramide analogs inhibiting cPLA2alpha activity, 3) activation of alkaline caramidase by c-Src, 4) an interaction between cellular cholesterol and ceramide metabolites. In addition, we showed 5) dual regulation of TGFbeta-induced fibrosis by S1P: stimulation by S1P3 receptor activation and inhibition by S1P1 receptor activation, and 6) an inhibitory effect of cyclosporin on TGFbeta-induced fibrosis in human lung fibroblasts.
