Research Abstract |
This study examined tree-herbivore interactions to understand community assembly and host-specificity of phytophagous insects in cool-temperate forests. Statistical analyses indicated that phylogenetic distance between host tree species significantly increased with beta diversity of phytophagous insects. The result suggests that loss of phylogenetically isolated tree species as well as dominant tree species decline diversity of phytophagous insects in forest ecosystems.
