Outline of Final Research Achievements

Effects of waste cooking oil on engine performance of Marine diesel engine were investigated. Droplets of Rapeseed-oil (R-oil), R-oil-Water emulsified fuel (R-W fuel) and Marine diesel fuel (MDF) were fallen on high temperature evaporating plate. The rate of production of carbon deposit was measured. The rate of production of carbon deposit of R-W fuel was lower than that of R-oil, but the rate of production of carbon deposit of R-W fuel was higher than that of MDF.
The emission and performance of a D.I. Diesel engine was measured, and MDF and MDF-Water emulsified fuel (M-W fuel) were used test fuels. NOX of R-W fuel was lower than that of MDF, and Brake thermal efficiency of R-W fuel was the same level as that of MDF, and PM of R-W fuel increased slightly.
