Research Abstract |
Chronic activation of dopamine D1 receptors induces the persistent reversal ofbehavioral sensitization to methamphetamine. The biochemical analyses s u g g e s t t h a t chronic dopamine D1 receptor agonism adjusts the enhanced dopamine D1 receptorsignaling in the striatum of methamphetamine-sensitized rats. The study providesexperimental evidence that dopamine D1 receptor agonists may be useful aspharmacotherapeutic agents for the treatment of drug addiction and schizophrenia
