| Outline of Annual Research Achievements |
1) タンザニア北部キリマンジャロ山腹・山麓地（Andosols）および同国北西部ブコバ州台地上（Acrisols）のバナナ／コーヒー農地における土壌肥沃度動態を調査した。その結果，堆肥等有機資材の投入に対する応答（肥沃度の増大）はAndosolsにおいてより顕著であり，特に土壌酸度の改善・交換性塩基保持量の増加が明瞭に起こることを明らかにした。
2) インドネシアAlisols，カメルーンFerralsolsの表層土壌およびリター層における硝酸化成能を比較検討した結果，後者において比較的pHの高いリター層が，主要な硝酸化成進行部位となっていることを明らかにした。
3) カメルーンのFerralsols, Acrisols畑作圃場における，降雨時の土壌水の浸透プロセスを詳細に検討した結果，前者では上層位から順次水飽和されていく過程が，後者ではバイパス流による土壌水の速やかな下層への移動が観察された。
4) カメルーン東部州の森林地帯において，森林開墾後キャッサバ等単年度作物主体に連作する場合と，カカオ等を混植しアグロフォレストリー的な土地利用に遷移させる場合について，土壌中の養分動態を比較検討した結果，後者においてカカオ定植後４～6年経過時には硝酸化成が抑制され，森林型の物質移動形態へと移行することが示された。
5) ベトナム，ラオスにおける土壌試料採取を進め，土壌の鉱物性に関する広域的情報収集を進めている。現在結果を解析中である。
現在，ここまで得られた個別成果を精査・統合し，気候変動に対する持続性対応，技術的対応を明確にするべく，特に物質フラックス制御の可能性，農耕地表土管理の観点から解析を進めている。
