Research Abstract

北西太平洋の海洋掘削試料・海山試料の岩石記載・全岩主成分・微量成分組成の分析を実施した.分析した試料は,海洋掘削試料のODP303(3:括弧内は試料数),304(3),197(2)サイト,ならびにIODP1179(6)サイトの玄武岩海洋地殻,海山では襟裳海山(1),堀田海山(10),第一鹿島海山(1),択洋第二海山(1),ならびにODPサイト197の周辺の海山試料(3),新生代の小規模火山(プチスポット)の海洋地殻ガブロゼノリス(1)ならびに玄武岩マグマ(10)の41試料である.主成分元素と微量成分元素の特徴をもとに,マグマの生成環境(温度・圧力・揮発成分含有量など)および起源物質(起源マントルの化学組成)の検討を行った.検討の結果を米国地球物理学連合秋季大会で公表した.関連論文として,マグマを発生するマントルでおこる融解現象の多様性(Kimura and Sano, 2012),東北日本弧のマグマの多様性(Yamada et al., 2012 Resource Geology; Takahashi et al., 2012, Journal of Petrology),島弧間の比較のためクリル弧とサンギへ弧の火山岩の多様性とその成因(Martynov et al., 2012, Petrology; Hanyu et al, 2012, Geochemistry Geophysics Geosystems)ならびに,元素分析法の開発(Kimura and Chang, 2012, JAAS)をいずれも著名国際誌に出版した.

計画した試料の分析を終了し,分析結果について検討を実施して,成果を国際会議で公表した.

Strategy for Future Research Activity

平成24年度に分析した火山岩試料のSr-Nd-Hf-Pb同位体分析を実施する.得られた成果をとりまとめ,国際会議で成果報告を行う.

Expenditure Plans for the Next FY Research Funding

予定していた試薬の使用量が予定より少なかったため,繰り越しが生じた.当該予算は次年度公表予定である論文の投稿料に充てる予定である.
